Recognition
A candidate should be able to show that the institution and exact online programme were recognized for the admission session.
Many recruiters can consider a recognized online qualification, but no regulation forces every employer to value every programme or candidate identically.
For graduate management education, GMAC's 2025 survey included 1,108 corporate and staffing recruiters across 46 countries. It reported that just over half of global employers valued graduates of online and in-person programmes equally. Perceptions differed by region and industry, so the finding should not be extended to every employer or every degree.
A candidate should be able to show that the institution and exact online programme were recognized for the admission session.
Recruiters may consider programme relevance, academic depth, assessment and the awarding institution's reputation.
Technical, analytical, communication and domain skills must match the job rather than exist only as subject names.
Previous work, internships, volunteering or practical assignments can change how a qualification is interpreted.
Projects, portfolios, reports, software work and measured improvements help make capability visible.
Individual organisations and regulated roles can maintain their own qualification and screening requirements.
